Confederacy of Dunces is an original comedy based on the novel by Tom Key. The story is set against a 1960's New Orleans backdrop, and concerns a thirty-something year old man, Ignatius, and his mother- Mrs. Reilly. Despite having received his master's degree, Ignatius' social skills prevent from moving easily through society, and the result is an often zany and constantly amusing series of events.
