Classical violinist Niv Ashkenazi, recipient of the 2007 VSA International Young Soloists Award, won the 2010 American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition. The Youth Fellowship Emerald Quartet features violinists Jessica and Katelyn Lyons, viola player Aiden Kane, and cellist Ryan Hintzman. 16 year-old cellist Kristina Winiarski is in her first year in the NSO Youth Fellowship Program - an orchestral training program for talented high school musicians.
