Completion of Sustainable Calgary's Citizens' Agenda Phase 1

Together We Reached Another Milestone

on the Path to a Sustainable Calgary

It is time to Celebrate

the Completion and Success of

the Citizens’ Agenda Phase One Project

Sustainable Calgary Society launched the Citizens' Agenda project in 2005. One thousand citizens volunteered 5000 hours to the task of analyzing the State of Our City Report Indicators and brainstorming actions and policies to tackle the city’s most pressing issues. These citizens selected 12 policy and action priorities that would create a healthier, more caring, vibrant and sustainable Calgary over the next five years (www.sustainablecalgary.ca/home.html). The Citizens’ Agenda report was completed this spring.

Please join us for a wrap up discussion of Phase 1 of the Citizens’ Agenda and a look at the final report:

Tuesday, July 24, from 5.30 to 9.30 p.m.

at the Old YWCA building (main floor)

223 - 12 Ave. S.W.

A light snack will be provided

Citizens' Agenda Phase II - A City Built for Everyone will again invite Calgarians to put their heads and hearts and hands together to make these priorities a reality. We want the dialogue to continue and deepen. Over the next five years, we will be convening action teams to take on this task. Decision makers, thematic experts and citizens working together will create action plans – the roadmaps of how we will achieve these priorities. Outreach and education teams will be ambassadors for the process reaching out into communities and organizations throughout Calgary to promote A City Built for Everyone. Before taking the next step, let’s celebrate the incredible contribution that was made to completing Phase 1.

We hope you can join us!
