Two emotionally-charged world premieres, "Indoor Fireworks" by Artistic Director Charles Anderson and Benjamin Bowman and "Ominous Rumblings of Discontent" by Maurice Causey, kick off Company C Contemporary Ballet's ninth season, with performances January 21-March 20. Company premieres of "Pulse" by Daniel Ezralow and "Tovernon" by David Anderson round out a program full of emotion and intense athleticism.

Founder and Artistic Director Charles Anderson says: "Company C's ninth season represents our commitment to the best in contemporary choreography, dynamic classical technique and a performance mix that elegantly combines style, versatility, wit and theatricality. The ballets are the stars of the company and demonstrate the range, relevance and personality that have attracted audiences from all over the Bay Area and beyond."

The season opens with an emotional thrill ride from the depths of David Anderson's "Tovernon", a soliloquy of grief, loss and hope, to a heart-pounding, life-affirming experience in Daniel Ezralow's intense ballet, "Pulse". New, heart-rending ballets: "Ominous Rumblings of Discontent" by Maurice Causey and "Indoor Fireworks" by Charles Anderson and Benjamin Bowman, which is coupled with the music of Elvis Costello, complete the emotional gamut of the journey. This program challenges the full-on athleticism of the Company and rewards audiences with breath-taking moments of galvanizing choreography, theatrical intensity and the excitement of dance pushed to its technical limits.
