Olive oil enthusiasts will have the rare opportunity to visit the 550-acre McEvoy Ranch on Sunday, November 11 and Sunday, December 9 and have their home-grown olives milled during the ranch’s Community Milling Days. For growers with small quantities of fruit – from 1 to 400 pounds of olives – McEvoy Ranch will combine and mill olives, while participants enjoy warm drinks and snacks and watch their olives turn to oil. Participants will be given oil commensurate with the amount of olives they bring, and will have freshly bottled olive oil to enjoy within 3 days. For more information or to register for the Community Milling Days, visit www.mcevoyranch.com. Cost is $1 per pound of olives.

McEvoy Ranch was established by Nan McEvoy in 1991 with 1,000 trees imported from Italy’s prime olive-producing regions. More than two decades later, the 550-acre ranch is home to 18,000 olive trees representing Tuscan varietals of Frantoio, Leccino, Pendolino, Maurino, Leccio del Corno and Moraiolo.

The McEvoy Ranch frantoio, or olive mill, uses exclusively Rapanelli equipment imported from Italy and is the only mill of its kind in the United States. The freshly harvested olives are crushed by stone and blade mills, and the oil extracted via centrifugation and gravity separation. The result is an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality - well balanced, smoothly textured, and of unparalleled flavor.

McEvoy Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil is available directly from the Ranch, at the McEvoy Ranch store in the Ferry Building Marketplace, and at select retail locations at the suggested retail prices of $24 for 375 mL and $46 for 750 mL. For further information, please visit: www.McEvoyRanch.com.
