Holiday shopping supports worthy cause
Community Hospital Anderson’s Auxiliary will host its annual holiday bazaar and cheesecake sale on Friday, Nov. 9, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Choose from a variety of homemade foods such as noodles, cakes, pies, cookies and breads. Next to new jewelry, handbags and crafts are also available for purchase in the lower level of the hospital.

There will also be hats for sale. The hats were donated by the family of Harriett Reed, a longtime Community Anderson volunteer who was the gift shop manager. The gift shop is now named for her, Harriett's Hattery and Gifts. Harriett was known for her many unique hats.

Auxiliary members will be selling raffle tickets for one dollar. Items to be raffled include a Thomas Kincaid picture, $150 donated by the Community Anderson Foundation, $100 donated by the Auxiliary, $50 gas card, $50 gift certificate to Seasons of the Heart and several restaurant gift cards.

The annual Holiday Bazaar is the Auxiliary’s biggest fundraiser, which allows the organization to offer the Carolyn S. Bolles nursing scholarship. Each year, this scholarship is awarded to a Madison county high school senior that plans on entering the nursing field upon graduation. The recipient is awarded $1500 for each of his or her four years of college.
