Communion, the U.K.'s most revered live music promotions team, are pleased to announce details of their greatly anticipated move into the U.S. with a very special "Communion In The Redwoods" 3-day party and the debut Communion U.S. Tour.

Communion is the brainchild of Mumford & Sons' Ben Lovett, his close ally, Kevin Jones, and renowned producer Ian Grimble. Born out of a London basement bar in 2006, Communion very quickly became the home to some of the U.K.'s most accomplished and praised young musicians as well as the go-to team for promoting and encouraging fresh, emerging talent in London and beyond. Communion offered an early live platform to artists including Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale, Marcus Foster and Anna Calvi (who was promptly selected as one of the BBC's Sounds Of 2011 nominees after Communion's early support).

Built solely on a freedom of expression, an ear for a tune and a celebration of exactly what the live music experience should be all about, Communion and its broad-minded, ever-evolving family have made light work of discovering and nurturing what MOJO calls a "new generation of songwriter." Heralded across the British press for its community spirit and an enviable reputation for introducing some of the globe's most highly acclaimed young acts, Communion's events have become the U.K.'s foremost home for eclectic, exciting parties to respectful, passionate music fans.

Having already promoted events in Dublin, Sydney and a handful of introductory parties in Brooklyn,Communion is very proud to be launching in the U.S. with a slew of forthcoming events.

The sound they make together is a woozy, day-dreaming Americana, filtered through a distinctly English folk sensibility - with Hegarty's extraordinary bruised and raw vocal the glue that binds it together. The band came together when, in late 2009, Communion Records called Matthew and said they wanted to record an EP of his songs. It was the coldest of winters and so he rounded up some old friends and they hid from the snow in a candlelit studio in North London. When they came out it was still snowing, but they had a record - they called it ‘To the North'.

They decided to try and play these songs together live. It turns out that once they started it was pretty hard to stop - so they haven't. Their first ever headline show was a sell out at The Lexington in London in April 2010, and since then they've toured the UK twice (once with The Shivers and once with Mumford and Sons) and played headline and support slots in some of London's most iconic venues.

Grammy-nominated musician and producer David Mayfield is a force of nature on stage. His energy and out and out enthusiasm for performing are evident at every show whether it's with Cadillac Sky, The Avett Brothers, Jessica Lea Mayfield or his own band, The David Mayfield Parade. Mayfield's songwriting "feels as classic as {his}...wardrobe" says Paste Magazine and his song "Ballad Of Restored Confidence" is featured as the cover mounted track on November's issue Uncut Magazine. His forthcoming album "The David Mayfield Parade" is an extension of his irrepressible energy and abundant love for the music that has inspired him over his young lifetime. It listens like an AM radio record with strings and production born out of such classics as Randy Newman's Sail Away or Simon & Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water but without forgetting the fundamentals of rock-n-roll!
