Commonwealth Shakespeare Company is please to announce the third and final installment of its American Voices script-in-hand series this season will feature stage and screen star Jeffrey Donovan in a reading of the late Lanford Wilson’s play, Burn This, a searing love story of two fractured people brought together by tragic loss who discover the possibility of love and vulnerability.

CSC Artistic Director Steven Maler will direct the reading on June 11th at 8pm at the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, located at 527 Tremont Street in Boston's South End.

Donovan currently stars as Michael Westen in USA Network’s series Burn Notice. Boston audiences will remember Donovan from starring in the title role of Hamlet in CSC’s 2005 Shakespeare on the Common production. Other American Voices performances this season have featured Chris Cooper in Sam Shepard’s Curse of the Starving Class and Jason Butler Harner in Thornton Wilder’s The Skin of Our Teeth.

The free performance will be Saturday, June 11 at 8pm at the Wimberly Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts. There will be a Wine and Cheese reception with the cast and director immediately following the reading. A limited number of reception tickets are available for $20 and can be purchased at commshakes.org or by calling 617.426.0863. Orders received by 6/10 will have a reserved seat at the reading as well as admittance to the reception. Attending just the reading is free and does not require a reservation, however seating is limited.
