Kirtan Rabbi's first Hebrew Kirtan at Jivamukti Yoga! Scientific studies show that Hebrew, like Sanskrit, is counted among the uniquely vibrational languages. The simple yet powerful phrases are selected from the Hebrew Bible, the prayerbook and from the language of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism). Short teachings and meditations set up the mood for each chant. Since it will be the evening of the Sabbath, we will especially bask in the sensual, kabbalistic hymn, Lecha Dodi (Come my Beloved) and explore its theme of union with the Divine. No prior knowledge of Hebrew is necessary; and the there is definitely no need to be Jewish! Come sing and dance with us on this special evening.
