On April 4th, a benefit is being held in support of the 2008 Village Building Convergence (VBC8). VBC8 is ten-day event (May 23-June 1, 2008) in which 25 projects around Portland activate to build shared public places that they have envisioned, designed, funded, and will maintain for themselves. VBC8 will include hands-on education in permaculture design and construction, ecological building, and public art. All projects are built through collaboration, community conversations and commitment of a neighborhood to strengthen itself. Projects include intersection repairs (painting intersections), cob benches and kiosks, gardening projects, and all kinds of wonderful initiatives. Evening events including speakers and entertainment also occur throughout the ten days.

The April 4th Benefit will include cheese, wine, beer, and chocolate tastings from local companies as well as a silent auction with tons of local donations! Entertainment will run throughout the night.
