COME are Thalia Zedek (Guitar & Vocals) / Chris Brokaw (Guitar & Vocals) / Arthur Johnson (Drums) / Sean O’Brien (Bass)

Come released the 12-inch “Car” on Sub Pop in 1991. The 7-min epic blues-noir encapsulated what was to become Come’s trademark style: dark, intense & lengthy songs marked by Zedek’s emotional & distressed vocals, abrupt rhythms & the tension-filled guitar.

In 92, Come released their debut album 11:11, on Matador Records. It received acclaim from both the independent & established media. After the release Brokaw left Codeine, devoting himself full-time to Come & they received praise from Dinosaur Jr.’s lead singer J. Mascis, Hüsker Dü’s Bob Mould & Kurt Cobain.

The following LP, the short Near-Life Experience, was recorded with a number of different musicians including drummer Mac McNeilly of the Jesus Lizard & Bundy K. Brown of Tortoise.

In 1998 Come released the 66min tour de force Gently, Down The Stream, which took its cue from Near Life Experience but featured a more fluent integrated sound-scape. The band took an indefinite pause as solo albums from Brokaw & Zedek were produced.

11:11 has been out of print for far too long. This May that situation is rectified with a deluxe, double disc reissue (2XLP, 2XCD) comprising the original album plus a bonus disc featuring Come’s Oct 10, 92 performance at the Vermonstress Festival. The 2XLP edition will also include a bonus 7″ a reissue of the “Fast Piss Blues” b/w “I Got The Blues” single.
