Fertility experts from the Department of OBGYN/Center for Women’s Reproductive Care of Columbia University Medical Center will present a broad range of infertility topics for a full afternoon on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008. Beginning at 12:30 p.m. and concluding at 5 p.m., this event will take place at the The Crowne Plaza Hotel, 66 Hale Avenue, White Plains, N.Y. 10601.

BACKGROUND

When is it time to seek infertility care?
Fertility care is typically recommended to couples who have failed to conceive after a certain period of natural attempts. In women 35 years-old or younger, it is advised that couples seek medical attention after a year of timely intercourse with no results. For women over 35, it is prudent to seek medical advice after six months of failed attempts, since a women’s age is a crucial factor in the chances of achieving pregnancy.
Fertility Treatments offered by the Department of OB/GYN-Center for Women’s Reproductive Care at Columbia University (CWRC):
CWRC offers intrauterine insemination (IUI), IVF and other advanced fertility treatments, including: blastocyst embryo transfer, embryo cryopreservation, oocyte cryopreservation, frozen embryo transfer, ovulation induction, and PGD (pre-implantation genetic diagnosis). It also has one of the largest and most successful egg donation programs in the country with a large and diverse pool of donors, which minimizes waiting time for patients. In addition, the center offers care for male infertility, minimally invasive reproductive surgery, micromanipulation techniques and extensive patient support services. CWRC is one of the few major infertility centers that accepts most major managed care health insurance plans on an in-network basis.
These attributes have made the Center for Women’s Reproductive Care of Columbia University Medical Center one of the largest and most successful infertility programs in the nation, attracting patients from around the world.
