The Walsh Gallery at Seton Hall University presents Colors of Faith, an exhibition co-curated by Elizabeth Girvin and Jesse McGarity, students in the Museum Professions Graduate Program. The exhibition represents a magnificent array of arts and crafts created by women of various religious orders in the northern New Jersey area. From serene paintings of nature to beautiful hand woven lectern covers, each piece demonstrates the women’s devotion to their faith beyond their daily routine of praying and working through a variety of colors and chosen media. S. Anita Talar served as an exhibition consultant.

The objects in the exhibition are gathered from five locations including The Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary, Georgian Court University, Saint James Convent, McAuley Hall and the Seton Hall University Department of Archives and Special Collections. Each location has a vastly different vocation - however, the Catholic community has left an impression on every one of them. “The works chosen, both liturgical and personal, tie these religious women together with their community through their creative endeavors and their faith in God. It is our objective that visitors coming to view the show will feel the same connection,” stated the curators, Elizabeth Girvin and Jesse McGarity.
