BACFUG meets this coming Wednesday October 17th at 6:30pm for networking / food / drink and 7pm for the main presentation. One of our own members, Axel Schultze, CEO of Xeequa, will present a case study of how they built their CRM system "Xeequa" with ColdFusion - and how they pushed the envelope of what can be done with Flash Forms and how you can create Vista Gadgets with ColdFusion. It's a very cool system and folks should find it very interesting!

Xeequa will also be sponsoring food and drink for the meeting - thank you Axel!

Xeequa is a new Business Networking Application, enhancing social networking to business networking. The application is using pretty much every aspect of ColdFusion such as:
* Flash remoting
* Flash forms very intensely
* Cfgrids and binds as well as connected grids
* Created Little ColdFusion "Xeelets" for Gadgets
* Running parts of the application as CF based Gadgets in Google Homepage
* Created a sophisticated VISTA Gadget in CF
* SOAP based interaction with Salesforce.com
* CSV upload and Export
* Pretty complex data model to manage a multi dimensional network
* Communication Engine based on CFMAIL
* A new patent pending "Genetically Networked Architecture" allowing massive profiling
* Everything that wasn't quite doable we augmented with Java/Action Script.

Xeequa is the first "networked" multi tenant architecture. I will not be able to run through all aspects of the code but certainly some areas and also demonstrate that CF is very well suited for a full blown Web 2.0 / Software as a Service application.

November 21st meeting - Hot Banana (or a Hot Banana expert!) will talk about their ColdFusion-powered CMS and, in particular, custom module development within the system. We will also have a recap of MAX for those who missed it.

No charge; RSVP by mid-afternoon 10/16 on bacfug.org.
