Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp is San Diego’s largest outdoor carnival and one of the largest Fat Tuesday celebrations in the world.

Every year on Fat Tuesday, 40,000 revelers from around the world flood the streets of the historic Gaslamp Quarter, a world-class entertainment district in downtown San Diego, America’s Finest City.

On Tuesday, February 21, 2012, the 18th Annual Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp returns to feature spectacular entertainment, including the Incredible Masquerade Parade at 9:30pm, flamboyant floats, music from internationally acclaimed DJs, galore of go-go dancers atop raised platforms throughout Fifth Avenue, incandescent concoctions and tossing of beads in every color, shape and size.

As the largest Mardi Gras celebration on the West Coast, Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp has become a signature San Diego event, with a distinct Southern California flavor. We embrace the tradition of Fat Tuesday with our own spin as a night of decadent indulgence in the heart of Downtown San Diego.
