Berkeley, California 94710

For Worldwide Climate Action Day, 10-10-10, help restore Codornices Creek, Berkeley's and Albany's only steelhead stream. Tour restoration projects from a 14-year-old pioneer “daylighting” to ongoing heavy-equipment work cutting a new channel. Talk about how global climate change threatens our magnificent steelhead and salmon -- as well as other species including our own.

Volunteer tasks for all ages, as you help remove invasives and improve habitat. Snacks, water, tools, and gloves provided. Meet at 10th Street north of Harrison (south edge of University Village), one block west of San Pablo and two blocks north of Gilman (AC Transit 72 or 25).

Sponsored by City of Albany, Codornices Creek Watershed Council, Ecocity Builders, and Friends of Five Creeks. Information: www.fivecreeks.org, [email protected], 510 848 9358.
