Reconstruction", an exhibition of photogenic drawings, reconstructs and constructs the past through fantasy and the imagination. Artist and photographer Naomi Vanderkindren creates the negatives for her richly textured, silver gelatin prints through collage of family photographs, drawings, and photocopies. This act of re-envisioning a set of family photographs draws upon the artist’s conviction that photography can have an accidental power over memory, including the power to alter our remembrance of the past.
