The Peninsula Symphony, a 90-member community orchestra led by Music Director and Conductor Mitchell Sardou Klein, celebrates its 62nd season of providing unique and first-class music to the Bay Area community. In addition, as part of its “Bridges to Music” outreach programs, the Symphony shares its passion for music by offering programs in schools, providing free or discounted tickets to students and their families, hosting two competitions for students, and presenting a free family concert and outdoor summer concert. This season the Orchestra performs concerts in venues from Cupertino to San Mateo.

For the classical music lover in everyone, Redwood City is launching a new Classical Music Series for 2010. The series launches at 6pm on June 26th with The West Bay Community Band, and then continues on July 31stwith the Peninsula Symphony. The great classical music continues on September 19th with the innovative Redwood Symphony. You won’t want to miss these free classical concerts, performed outdoors on beautiful Courthouse Square for your musical enjoyment.

Along with the Classical Series, other exciting FREE events include: Dancing on the Square on Tuesdays, Movies on the Square on Thursdays, Music on the Square on Fridays, and Jazz on Main on Mondays. Other ongoing events in the coming months include seven special outdoor exhibits featuring Art on the Square, Monday and Wednesday afternoon performances with Lunchtime on the Square, as well as weekend Target Family Days, and Cultural Events.
