Classic Movie Monday: Free Screening of The Misfits March 2, 2009

In honor of San Francisco-based
Joe Goode Performance Group’s Houston Performance Presented by SPA

Society for the Performing Arts and Brasil present a FREE screening of The Misfits on Monday, March 2 at 7 p.m. at Brasil, 2604 Dunlavy in honor of Joe Goode Performance Group’s Friday, March 6 performance of Maverick Strain.

Goode will introduce the classic film that stars screen legends Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable. The screening is open to the public, with food and drink available for purchase. Space is limited and there is no reserved seating. Please arrive around 6:30 p.m. to order food and beverages prior to the screening. RSVP at [email protected].

Goode’s Friday program will feature Maverick Strain, a deconstruction of Arthur Miller’s screenplay The Misfits, set to music by Beth Custer, in Wortham Center’s Cullen Theater. The famous piece serves as a parody of the macho myth using song, speech, movement and other elements. Also on the program is Wonderboy, Goode’s new collaboration with world-renowned puppeteer Basil Twist.
