Cooking as Medicine
Know yourself. Get healthy and have fun in the process! Cooking as Medicine supports knowing what's good for you, and only you! Learn how your stomach responds to your personality type, how that relationship creates a digestive nature that determines health issues you experience. Become a member and start receiving your your Cooking as Medicine Magazine with feature recipes designed for you to experiment with, and then to determine your unique digestive nature. You'll meet
three creative characters with personalities offering a comparative awareness to help you evaluate personality energies,
choose which are closest to yours, and how you can use that information to achieve better health.

Claire Ayriana was inspired by entrepreneurs, trend-setters, business concepts, and age-old sciences throughout her life. She earned a degree in psychology, enjoyed a successful career in the software industry, created new food products, and then became certified in Eastern Medicine and Nutrition. Now, she combines her diverse knowledge of business, food, health services, and nutrition, with a servant's heart to create "Cooking as Medicine."
It took working in the food industry to fully appreciate the need for educating people to become more responsible for their own health in a unique and enjoyable way. But it was really a quote from her Eastern Medical teacher that intrigued her,
"A good doctor must first, be a good cook."
Claire expanded her education by attending the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, NM., where she became certified in Ayurveda, an ancient medical/nutritional system originated in India. She completed her education with renowned Dr. Vasant Lad in US and India. Inspired by Ayurveda, Claire has created a business meant to educate people to what's going on inside, and how cooking can be healing at many levels. She provides fun-filled education through her icon, The Medicinal Chef, a membership which includes the Cooking as Medicine Introduction Guide, a quarterly Cooking as Medicine Magazine, and services and support that promote the vision of Cooking as Medicine - creating healthier people without taking the fun out of life!

Fireworks for the Soul: Tibetan Bowl and Gong Concert
Sunday August 22nd , 6pm at Aquarius Book & Gifts, 528 Northeast E St. Nationally known Tibetan Bowl Sound Healer, recording artist and author, Diane Mandle uses sound and light to tap into an individual’s sensory experience and create an elevated state of healing and meditation during her concerts. These restorative concerts feature precision tuned Tibetan Bowls, Bells, Planetary Gongs and other vibrational instruments creating a “tonal bath”. Additionally she also projects light forms of sacred geometry bathing the audience in color and moving light. She tells the story of these amazing instruments, the healing they bring and the science behind it.
“ It is really a transformational event. People should come prepared to have body, mind and spirit deeply shifted.” Mandle says.
Mandle is the only State Certified Tibetan Bowl Healer/Instructor in California and a guest presenter at the Deepak Chopra Center, The Golden Door and Rancho la Puerta.. In addition to her private practice she works with cancer patients in the medical setting. 1-3 pm ~ Learn how the ancients interpreted the heavens using mythology ~ then on to the story of the “Star of Bethlehem” and how the birth of Jesus was astrologically foretold in the sky (heavens). There is no charge for this event.

Cosme Castanieto will be in Grants Pass, July 9, 10 and 11th. A certified massage therapist, Cosme was trained by, and is a member of the Institute of Integral Health. Grants Pass Sathya Sai Baba Center has bhajans (chanting) every Monday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 pm or 9:00 pm.
The Center is at 1151 Summit Loop which is actually on Board Shanty Road off of Summit Loop. Please call Sue at 541-761-0899 for more information and more explicit directions for parking. A short reading and discussion will begin the bhajan. Devotional songs of Christian, Hindi, Hebrew, American Indian, and others are sung, many in chant form.
