SCARECROWS TAKING THE STREET - SSA MERCHANTS UNVEIL “SCARECROWS ON CLARK STREET”

The Clark Street SSA #23 is launching “Scarecrows on Clark Street” on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 11 a.m. Scarecrows will be on display from Saturday, October 17 through Saturday, October 31.

Local merchants will kick off the festive fall season by designing and displaying a themed scarecrow in front of their business. Scarecrows will be scattered throughout the SSA district (Clark St. between Armitage and Diversey, and on Diversey from Orchard to Lakeview).

After visiting the “Scarecrows on Clark Street,” the public is invited to vote for their favorite scarecrow at www.ClarkStreetSSA.org. Voting ends at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2009.

WHEN: Saturday, October 17

‘Scarecrows of Clark Street’ - Participating Clark Street businesses will begin displaying their unique scarecrows in storefront windows or outdoors on the sidewalk along Clark Street. Scarecrows will remain on display through October 31.

WHERE: Clark Street Special Service Area #23 – On Clark St., between Armitage and Diversey and on Diversey from Orchard to Lakeview.

WHO: The Clark Street Special Service Area (SSA) #23 was established to maintain and strengthen Clark Street as a vibrant commercial and residential district. The Clark Street SSA #23 has been tasked to ensure a clean and attractive environment for the community while fostering a collaborative partnership among all stakeholders and members of the SSA (businesses and residents fronting Clark St. from Armitage to Diversey and those fronting the south side of Diversey from Orchard to Lakeview).
