Clarence Bucaro's music is a collage of Americana, inspired by his deep knowledge of roots music. He was greatly influenced by early blues artists, such as Blind Willie Johnson, Blind Willie McTell, Robert Johnson and Mississippi John Hurt.

Based in Brooklyn, NY, the Inner Banks began as a home-recording project by composer David Gould, who by 2005 was ready to break away from the traditional Americana-inspired music he'd been playing for five years with his band, The Bootleg Remedy.
