What: A Street Fair under the Hillcrest Sign celebrating community Spirit including Music, Arts and Crafts, a local showcase, a celebratory lantern parade and rededication of the neighborhood sign.
Who: The neighborhood of Hillcrest.
Where: Fifth Ave and University (under the Hillcrest Sign).
When: Sunday August 9th, 2009 at from Noon until 10pm.
Rededication of the neighborhood sign at 9:30pm.
Why: To celebrate neighborhood spirit.

Join over 150,000 people beneath the Hillcrest Sign at the largest neighborhood street fair of its kind. CityFest 2009 is a celebration of art, music, food and Spirit in San Diego’s premiere urban neighborhood.
CityFest 2009 will feature a Grand Stage beneath the Hillcrest Sign, a massive open air beer garden, local neighborhood showcase, hundreds of arts and crafts, a huge food court, kid’s carnival, celebratory lantern parade at dusk, and a “relighting” of the neighborhood sign.
