City Harvest’s 18th Annual An Evening of Practical Magic April 24, 2012

City Harvest’s 18th annual An Evening of Practical Magic will be held on Tuesday, April 24th at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street). The evening will include cocktails and a silent auction at 6:30 pm, followed by a dinner and live auction at 7:30 pm.

City Harvest’s An Evening of Practical Magic pays tribute to the efforts of individuals and organizations who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to help City Harvest feed New York’s hungry. This year the event will honor the staff and chefs of Union Square Hospitality Group. The dinner will raise funds to support City Harvest’s work at a time when demand for emergency food continues to rise. It will be attended by City Harvest board members, celebrities, corporate leaders and longstanding supporters of the organization.

Last year’s event raised $1.5 million for City Harvest and attracted 650 guests. It was hosted by Cynthia Nixon and honored Bill Koenigsberg, President, CEO and Founder of Horizon Media. Notable attendees included Kelly Rutherford, Miss USA Rima Fakih, and Shoshanna Gruss as well as renowned culinary experts: Eric Ripert, Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, Michael White, Marc Murphy, Top Chef Masters judge Ruth Reichl, Ron Ben-Israel, Michael Lomonaco, François Payard, Ben Pollinger, The Stanton Social’s Chris Santos, , Donatella Arpaia, Tracy Nieporent of Myriad Group, D’Artagnan’s Ariane Daguin, and Cake Boss’s Buddy Valastro, among others.
