City Harvest will hold its sixth annual On Your Plate luncheon on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Metropolitan Club in Manhattan (1 E 60th Street at 5th Avenue). A reception will take place at 11:30 AM and the luncheon and discussion will begin at noon.

The event will feature a talk and panel discussion with Silda Wall Spitzer and a panel of public, independent and parochial school children recognized for their commitment to City Harvest. The event will be co-chaired by Joy Ingham and Topsy Taylor. Society columnist and longtime City Harvest Supporter, David Patrick Columbia, is an honorary chair.

Silda Wall Spitzer is the founding chair of Children for Children, a not-for-profit through which more than 200,000 young people volunteer across the country and globally annually. At the event, Ms. Spitzer will speak to the importance of service and encouraging the next generation to continue the missions of important organizations in the city.

Tickets to this year’s On Your Plate luncheon range from $350 - $1,000 and tables range from $5,000 - $15,000. Last year’s event attracted over 200 guests and raised almost $230,000 to support City Harvest’s work feeding New York’s hungry.
