"Citizens and the Future of News" will look at the state of major mainstream news outlets, community-based sources and emerging formats to explore how ordinary citizens are impacting the future of news. The forum will feature a conversation with media critic and NYU professor Mark Crispin Miller and Lizz Winstead, co-creator of "The Daily Show", as well as panel discussions with representatives from the StarTribune, Pioneer Press, MPR and a variety of community-based news media.

Mark Crispin Miller is Professor of Media Ecology at New York University, where he oversees the Project on Media Ownership. He is the author of numerous books and articles on media ownership, including "Boxed In: The Culture of TV" (Northwestern University Press) and "The Death of News", an essay which appeared in The Nation Magazine this past June.

Lizz Winstead is a writer and comedian who was a founder of Air America Radio and co-creator of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show."
