In line with the National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, as well as Obama’s recent push for securing the nations cyber infrastructure, the Department of Defense (DoD) has released DoD Directive 8570, which requires any DOD civilian or contractor employee performing Information Assurance functions in assigned duty positions to follow specific guidelines for the training and certification. The CISSP certification is among those required for Technical, Management, CND, and IASAE classifications.
