CIS Improv for Education - An Evening of Fun, Friends, & Fund Raising

You are cordially invited to join students of Nooksack and Bellingham High Schools, actors from the Upfront Theater, and the Board of CIS Whatcom County at our first annual 'Friend & Fund Raising' event!

The Improv for Education will be a unique opportunity to mix a great time with a chance to learn about and contribute to the work of CIS and it's partners in Whatcom County for 2009. We'll start the evening with a social hour (serving appetizers, desert snacks, and beverages), followed by a brief presentation and testimonials on CIS. The hightlight of the event will be a presentation of improvisational skills performed by students from Bellingham and Nooksack High Schools. The students have been studying under the tutelage of members of the Upfront Theater since November, and this show is their chance to show what they have learned. During the social hour you'll have a chance to bid (silent auction) on a range of themed backpacks stuffed with gift packages and other items from our generous sponsors.

Our master of ceremonies for the evening will be Michael Watters, a local business owner (Kid's World Learning Centers), and a well known and entertaining speaker and entertainer.

We welcome everyone in the community, but be sure to purchase your ticket soon as the seats are limited and are filling quickly.

Backpack Auction: If you'd like to preview the content of the backpacks and other items that will available during the auction you can check here. Be sure to check back regularly, as new items are being added all of the time.

If you can't attend the Improv for Education event but would like to show your support, you can make a general donation using the buttons on the left, or you can mail them directly to CIS offices. Your contribution is greatly appreciated!

Finally, for more information about CIS Whatcom County, our current & planned programs for 2009, and our partners you can check here.

We hope to see you at the Leopold for a unique opportunity to show your support for our students & schools, while having a lot of fun!
