Cirque This Invites You to Cirque Off!

Cirque This, a community circus based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, has
expanded their productions to showcase performers from New York City and
beyond in the aptly named Cirque Off! Cirque This sets the stage, while an
amazing roster of unusual and spectacular guests sets the scene by showing
off their talents in the one-night only extravaganza.

For the first time ever, Cirque This has opened up their circus ring and
struck-up the band to rock the house for this festival of acts, which
includes clowning, juggling, glasswalking, trapeze, escape, and much more to
dazzle the senses. And, while hosting the evening, Cirque This will also
take the stage to lend a hand with their signature style clowning.

Cirque This is a community circus dedicated to creating comical, beautiful,
sometimes dark but always accessible work while welcoming with open arms all
who care to perform with them and all those who come to gawk. Their unique
fusion of circus styles hints at a familiar archetype while warping that
image into enjoyably bizarre and delightfully disturbing amalgamations of
the familiar and the strange. While aiming to reinvent common perceptions
of circus, through non-traditional angles on traditional circus arts
including clowning, puppetry, juggling, stilting and acrobatics, Cirque This
creates acts and evening length shows that have amazed audiences since its
inception in 2003. Beginning with their inaugural full length show in the
spring of 2004, Cirque This has been performing to sold-out houses annually
as a resident company of Triskelion Arts Theater, as well as gracing a
number of other venues over the past years.
