Cinémonde : Manhattan series for thought-provoking cinema June 24, 2009

What is Cinémonde? A smart, elegant private film series with screenings of international films throughout the year, including a gourmet reception for participants and filmmakers.

Where does Cinémonde take place? Soirée Number Five will take place Wed., June 24, 2009, from 7:00 to 11:00 pm at the School of Visual Arts Theater, 333 West 23rd St. (bet. 8th & 9th Aves).

Why Cinémonde? To create a cordial, private venue to see thought-provoking work from around the world, offering participants the opportunity to interact with the filmmakers and each other while savoring wonderful foods and beverages. The underlying theme is to bring people together with universal stories and warm hospitality.

Who is the programmer and host? Jerry Rudes, who is Founder and Director of both the 25-year-old Avignon Film Festival (France) and the 13-year-old Avignon/New York Film Festival (USA).

What is the screening format? Cutting-edge video projection with a high-caliber sound system for excellent big-screen viewing.

How does one get invited? Guests need to be invted personally, thus underscoring the private nature of the series. Once you have received a personal invitation by e-mail, you will also receive instructions on how to reserve your place and those of your guests on the Cinémonde website. No guest may purchase more than 4 tickets for any one Cinémonde soirée.

What is the dress code? Casual evening/chic.
How do you reserve and pay? What is the cost? Seating is limited and guests must reserve their places beforehand on a firstcome, first-serve basis. Tickets cost $50 per participant and must be pre-paid on line at www.mistralartistmanagement.com (it’s easy,
just follow the instructions, all credit cards accepted). There are no discounts. Barring extraordinary circumstances, monies will not be
accepted at the door.

What do the ticket revenues cover?
All proceeds are used to pay for screening facilities, staff, reception and organizational expenses associated with each event. No profit is
budgeted or expected. A portion of each ticket sold for Soiree #5 will be contributed to the Audubon Society of New York.

Which films will be screened? A compelling program made up of a short film and feature film, specially curated for the occasion.

Which members of the creative team will attend? Directors, producers, crew and/or cast members from each movie will introduce and discuss their work.

Who are the sponsors of Cinémonde? LVT Laser Subtitling, the Roger Smith Hotel, Glenmorangie Scotch, Chopin Vodka, Navan Liqueur, Royal Wine Merchants, Chateauneuf-de-Pape Vintners.
