ciNE65 is back again for a second season! Starting from 20 February 2013, ciNE65 invites you to submit your story on the theme “I’ll be there for you, Singapore” in a three-minute short film. ciNE65 is a short film competition for aspiring film-makers (Singaporeans or those living in Singapore) to express and embrace the Singapore identity.

To hone their film-making skills, participants can register for seminars and workshops helmed by renowned local film-makers. Winners of the competition stand to win attractive prizes, including an overseas learning trip to a film festival or film establishment!

Submission of entries will close on 12 May 13.

Competition Categories:

a) Student Category
- Full-time students, both Singaporean and non-Singaporean, who are studying in a local educational institution at the point of registration, are eligible to participate.
- Overseas Singaporeans who are studying full-time in an educational institution abroad, at the point of registration, are eligible to participate.
- Non-Singaporean students studying in other countries are not eligible to participate.
- Clear indication of where one is based must be provided during the registration phase of the competition.
- Students can participate as an individual or as a team, with each team not exceeding six (6) members.
- Submission from a team with all members from the same school will go into the tabulation of scores for the Inter-school Challenge.
- Inter-School Challenge: The Inter-school Challenge trophy will be given to the school with the highest number of quality entries submitted in the Student Category by teams comprising all members from the same school. The number of submitted, nominated and winning entries will be taken into consideration during the tabulation of scores for this Challenge.

b) Open Category
- Only Singaporeans (including overseas Singaporeans) and non-Singaporeans residing in Singapore are eligible to participate in this category.
- Participants can join as a member or as a team, with each team not exceeding six (6) members.

Submitted films should be original. Films that have been submitted to previous film competitions cannot be submitted for ciNE65. They should reflect the ciNE65 II’s theme “I’ll Be There For You, Singapore”. Participants may wish to refer to the judging criteria as guide.

Each film must adhere to the given theme and be no longer than 3:00 minutes in duration (including opening and ending credits). All film submissions must be produced in high definition (HD) quality.

Awards and Prizes:

There are three award categories: Jury’s Choice Awards, Audience Choice Awards and Inter-School Challenge. Jury’s Choice Awards comprise eight awards each for the Student and Open Category, and the Audience Choice Awards comprise three awards.

Only entries shortlisted by the Selection Panel will qualify for the award/s. An entry may be nominated for more than one award. A winning entry for any award will still be eligible for other prizes that it is nominated for.

The winners for the Jury’s Choice awards will be 100% determined by a panel set up by the Organiser, while winners of the Audience Choice awards will be 100% determined by the total number of votes the submission received from the members of the voting public over the voting period (to be advised at later date).
