Please join the Department of Writing, Consciousness & Creative Inquiry for readings and performances by MFA alums, MamaCoAtl, Jovelyn Richards, Kelly Lydick, Amy Reed, and Judy Jordan.

Musician and performance artist MamaCoAtl has worked the stage from San Francisco to Cusco, from Performance Art and Installation to Butoh, Ritual, Musical Theater, and Cabaret.

Kelly Lydick's writing has appeared in Twittering Machine, ditch, and on KQED's The Writers' Block. She is the author of the chapbook We Once Were, and the experimental novel, Mastering the Dream.

Judy Jordan is the author of The Last Days of Dolly and S.L.A.P., loosely based on an underground collective of sex workers. Her poems, essays, interviews and short stories have appeared in Learning to Love You More, The Odyssey Pocketbook, Holy Titclamps, and The Abolitionist.

Amy Reed had been published in journals such as Kitchen Sink, Contrary, and Fiction. Her debut Young Adult novel Beautiful (Simon Pulse/Simon & Schuster) was released in October, 2009.

Jovelyn Richards is a published writer and professional storyteller/Actress. She is co-author of the novel The Onion, winner of the Digest Merit Award; author of Raising Autumn Colored Babies; Beyond Vanity; and various other published works. Jovelyn's recent work 'Come Home' premiered at The Marsh, 2007 in San Francisco.
