The Green Resolutions ride will meet at the Silver Lake Recreation Center Park located at 1850 West Silver Lake Drive (90026). The first stop is the Silver Lake Farmer’s Market where riders will become acquainted with reasons for shopping at local markets, with a short talk with “Farmer Eddie”. Eco-Home is the second stop on the Expedition route where riders will embark on a self-guided tour of the home and the grounds, followed by group Q&A with the owner.

C.I.C.L.E.’s new Urban Expeditions program, made possible in part by R.E.I, is a year-long se-ries of monthly community-focused bicycle rides. The Urban Expeditions ride series was devel-oped by CICLE to build community by giving local residents a chance to explore their neighbor-hoods on two-wheels. Liz Elliott and Shay Sanchez co-founded C.I.C.L.E. based on the belief that cycling is a sustainable way to build community, as well as bring all cyclists, from first time riders, to racers, to commuters to recreational riders together in this age of disconnect and de-tachment.

Urban Expeditions, which are led by 2 League Certified Cycling Instructors and facilitated by an all-volunteer team of ride leaders and sweeps, provide a safe and enjoyable riding environment for beginning and experienced riders alike. Rides are typically under 7 miles, are fully supported, and follow all basic traffic laws and principles.

The ride is open to everyone at no charge, and families are encouraged to participate in the ride. Bikes should be in good running order, and all participants under 18 must wear a helmet. Children under age 9 should be on a tag-a-long, bike trailer, tandem, or other safe child-carrying device.
