“His voice is ear-catching, with a handsome, virile timbre and plenty of heft, and he communicates nuances with skill.” (Opera News)

Whether in recital at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam or at Carnegie Hall in New York, baritone Christopher Maltman has captivated listeners around the world with performances of consummate artistry and maturity. Winner of the Lieder Prize at the 1997 Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, he has made well-received recent appearances at the Royal Opera House in London and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. An emerging recording artist of note, his recording of Schumann's Dichterliebe was released to tremendous critical acclaim. "At the end, a standing ovation, resounding bravos, and three encores; it doesn't get better than this," praised the Wiener Zeitung.

Opera News has said of Maltman, “For all his successes on the grand opera and concert stages of the world, Christopher Maltman has flair and a taste for intimate recitals, which bring to light his sophistication and dramatic approach."
