June 29 through July 2, 2011 (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.) Wednesday afternoon is our first mega-session. Mini-sessions are Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings. Vendors are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Where is it?
At the Gatlinburg Convention Center in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Who's attending?
If you take pride designing holiday displays, this is your opportunity to learn techniques from the recognized leaders.as well as meet the premier suppliers.
Any vendors?
Think over 30,000 square feet of vendors showing their latest products and offering pre-season deals.
Education?
We've got the best of the best coming in to expand your mind when it comes to great displays. In the mornings we have two tracks of mini-sessions to help the newbie as well as the advanced. Most afternoons are reserved for mega-sessions covering the latest design principles, over-the-top techniques along with ways to save considerable time and money to satisfy yourself and/or the most demanding clients. We're going to stimulate creative and business minds across the spectrum..
How much?
The vendor expo is free to everyone. Mega and mini-session fees are based on when you register. Package deals are available.
Is this a new event?
Nope. It's the next generation trade show based on the PlanetChristmas Lights Up Symposium (PLUS) that started back in 2003. We got tired of explaining to newbies that PLUS was an acronym and the old-timers would keep forgetting what it meant, anyway. We took the subtle hint we needed something easy to remember and descriptive of what this show was all about. Say hello to Christmas Expo!
Why is this show in June?
Decorators will tell you many customers start thinking about the holidays in the mid-summer. Vendors have placed their seasonal orders and want to spread the word about what's available and make early sales. Other vendors know it's time to clear out the warehouse to create room for newer inventory. The date might seem early to you but decorators eager to learn and find great deals think it's just right.
Do you need to be there?
If you do any kind of decorating and take pride in your accomplishments, then you really need to attend.
