ON the 30th, the theme for the antenatal session is preparing for labour, with the midwife coming.
More generally, if you are pregnant, at CHOICES you'll learn about labour, pain relief, baby care, and also about how having a baby will affect you, your relationships, your life, your money, your health and how to cope with the changes. The setting is relaxed and fun. There'll be practical demonstrations (e.g. First Aid , how to bath your baby, dealing with a crying baby, baby massage etc) and the opportunity to try activities such as relaxation, making fun things for your baby, yoga etc... You'll meet lots of other young parents-to-be and will be able to make new friends and share your experiences together. You can even get a qualification at Level 1 OCN if you attend the group regularly!
If you already have had your baby, you will decide with the other young parents there what you want to do each week, and you will also have the opportunity to help run the group ( and learn new skills such as fund raising, running a crèche, peer education and mentoring etc..) if you want. The weekly group will also be a great opportunity for your baby or toddler to meet other children and develop their social skills, and there will be lots of toys to play with. We go on outings too.
we provide food and drinks, and bus passes
