Critically acclaimed pianist Ching-Yun Hu will perform a premiere recital at Yamaha's midtown Piano Salon on Monday, September 24. The program will include such works as:

- Bach/Siloti: Prelude from Cantata in B minor, NR. 29
- Bach/Siloti: Siciliana, BWV 1030
- Bach: Prelude & Fugue in C-sharp minor
- Ravel: Gaspard de la Nuit
- Rachmaninoff: Sonata in B-flat minor, Op. 36
- Strauss/Schulz/Evler: Arabesques on themes of "Beautiful Blue Danube"

Taiwan-born pianist Ching-Yun Hu has performed extensively in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Africa. She has performed in prestigious venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Salle Cortot in Paris, Aspen Music Festival, National Chiang Kai-Shek Performance Hall (Taipei) and Osaka Hall (Japan). Hu made her solo debut at age 13 with the Poland Capella Cracoriensis Chamber Orchestra on tour in Japan and Taiwan, and at age 16 won a Silver Medal at the Taipei International Piano Competition. She has received First Prizes in the Olga Koussevitzky International Piano Competition and the Seiler International Piano Competition, as well as top honors at the Chopin Competition of the Kosciusko Foundation in New York. In her native country, she has been honored with awards and career sponsorships from the National Culture and Education Committee, National Concert Hall, Chi-Mei Music and Art Foundation, and the International Rotary Club.

Hu made her Lincoln Center debut at Alice Tully Hall on March 5, 2007 to a sold out house. The concert received enthusiastic response from critics and audience alike. In July she became the Gold Medalist and First Prize winner at the prestigious World Piano Competition in Cincinnati. She received both her Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees from The Juilliard School, studying piano with Herbert Stessin and Oxana Yablonskaya. Hu is a Yamaha Artist.
