Immerse yourself in one of the world’s oldest cultures! The Norton Museum celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival with music, art activities, tours, Chinese food, and more. See amazing performers, try your hand at Chinese calligraphy, make holiday crafts, take a guided tour of the Norton’s Chinese collection, participate in our special Treasure Hunt, and finish the day with traditional mooncakes and tea.

Activity Schedule:

10 a.m.-5 p.m. – Self-guided treasure hunts in the Chinese collection, and Chinese games

10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. – Introduction to Tai Chi with Master Jeffrey Guiffre
11 a.m.-3 p.m. – Holiday Lantern-making Project for Kids
11 a.m.-2 p.m. – Drop-In Chinese Character-writing Workshop with Bei Bei She (all ages)

Noon – Docent Tour and Q+A in the Chinese Galleries

Noon -1 p.m. – Porcelain Jar-making demonstration with Matt Fiske, Artist in Residence, Armory Art Center

1 p.m.- 2 p.m. – Curator’s Conversation with Laurie Barnes, Elizabeth B. McGraw Curator of Chinese Art

2 p.m. – Docent Tour and Q+A in the Chinese Galleries

3 p.m. – Concert by the Ann Yao Trio – Museum Theater (Theater doors open at 2:00 p.m., seating is limited)

4 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. – Moon Cakes and Tea Reception
