Terese Tse Bartholomew, curator of Himalayan art and Chinese decorative arts at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, will discuss the traditional significance of many plants and flowers in Chinese culture. The author of Hidden Meanings: Symbolism in Chinese Art, Bartholomew explains how the use of visual puns, or the pairing of certain plants, can convey more than meets the eye.
