The Chinese Clown Cabaret
Plays 2005 San Francisco Fringe Festival
September 7 - 17, 2005

Chinese Clown and her Real-Life Mother Return to the Fringe, Juggling Culture, Intergeneration, and that "Special" (Mother-Daughter) Relationship

Recognized as the Best Clown Show of 2004's Fringe, Jane Chen returns with her all-new Chinese Clown Cabaret, part of this year's 12-day San Francisco Fringe Festival, September 7 through 18, 2005. Performed with her real-life mother Tair, this year's show takes the silliness to a new level? What's a Chinese clown to do!? Her mom just wants her to practice the ukulele, but she's growing up, falling in love and trying to have fun! Girls just want to have fun, dammit!

Combining Chinese folk songs, catchy pop tunes, and Jane's signature quirky ditties, the Chinese Clown Cabaret sings, dances, and clowns its way through the roller-coaster ride of adolescent clown life and growing up caught between two cultures. The Chinese Clown Cabaret is, according to Audience Reviews, "one of those rare shows that helps you feel how neat it is just to be alive."

The Chinese Clown Cabaret plays at Original Joe's Restaurant, 144 Taylor Street (Eddy and Turk), San Francisco. Tickets are $9. Show dates are:
9/7 at 7pm
9/8 at 8:30pm
