Slow Food San Francisco is having their first annual childhood obesity prevention conference.

This conference will highlight local heroes and organizations working with children and adolescents all over the Bay Area to prevent and reverse childhood obesity. By bringing together a multi disciplinary panel we hope to shed light on how complex the issue is, and to discuss the many avenues that exist to contribute and collaborate.

This conference will bring together speakers who are active and knowledgeable professionals in the fields of policy, health and wellness, education and sustainable business. We hope to have an audience that is equally interested and committed to the issue as our speakers, and the event will provide all involved with the opportunity to identify solutions to this highly critical issue.

"Childhood Obesity Bay Area: Boots on the Ground" conference will include a keynote address from David Kessler, M.D., a diverse panel of speakers from local and national organizations, focused break out sessions, lunch, a slam poetry performance, and a reception.

Speakers:
David Kessler, M.D., Former commissioner of the FDA, Author of The End of Overeating
Chynna Bantug, M.D., Chief of Pediatrics at Kaiser Permanente, San Jose
