Chico Hamilton and Euphoria August 26, 2008

Awarded the prestigious NEA Jazz Masters Fellowship in 2004, drummer and bandleader Chico Hamilton has been a fixture in the jazz world for over 50 years, and has performed with such jazz legends as Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, Lester Young, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, Gerry Mulligan and Ron Carter, among many others. In 1955 he won great acclaim for leading his own Quintet, and ever since has been known for his talent of spotting rising jazz stars.
