Experience Britten with a personal connection. One of Britten's close collaborators was conductor Steuart Bedford, who conducted the first staged performance of 'Owen Wingrave' in 1973. He will join Chicago Opera Theater for this much anticipated production. The opera is based on a Henry James story about a young man with strong pacifist convictions who refuses to join the army against his military family's wishes. The dynamic duo of director Ken Cazan and designer Peter Harrison bring their remarkable creativity to Owen Wingrave as they did to COT"s past productions of 'Death in Venice' and 'Duke Bluebeard's Castle.'
