Chicago Expat Canadian Meetup Group: Toronto Marlies at Chicago Wolves game January 9, 2011

The Maple Leafs top farm team, the Toronto Marlies, are coming to town to play the Chicago Wolves and we're going to have a Meetup!

It's a Sunday afternoon matinée, so it's perfect for any of our members with kids to get home in time for early turn-in for school the next day. And here's an event for our suburban members a little closer to home for many of you.

The Wolves will have played another home game against Hamilton the night before (a note for those of you Bulldogs fans or Canadiens fans from the Niagara Peninsula), so it's a good chance for the Marlies to take advantage of a tired opponent.

We propose a pre-game get together at Giordano's in Rosemont to renew acquaintances, make new friends and keep you from having to depend on the weak concessions at the arena to satiate your hunger. Then, we'll have plenty of time to get to the arena for the game.

The Wolves pre-game introductions are pretty impressive, with fireworks and flames that get the crowd stoked up. And unlike the Blackhawks, the ticket prices and availability make it possible for us to go. Tickets are $19 to sit in the lower level, and if we can get 15 or more advance orders, we will try to get them for you for just $16 (handling costs included).

We will not take payments from you at this point. Those who definitely plan to attend must RSVP YES on our web site by Thursday January 6 at 9am. We will email those RSVPers later Thursday morning with instructions on how to pay for your tickets (most likely online in some way) and info on where we can meet before the game. We will need the ticket payment that same day by 5pm. Be prepared to respond quickly to emails from [email protected] on Thursday.

If we have fewer than 15 tickets ordered by Thursday (or in case of extenuating circumstances that don't allow us to buy the discount tickets), we'll still be going but will buy tickets at the arena day of game for $19 each. Thank you for your understanding.
