2430 N Cannon Dr
Chicago, Illinois 60614

This is a first in a series of Chicago Eco Edventures for high school students, meant to combine education and recreation as participants enjoy the beauty of nature and the excitement of a new adventure. Nature Museum educators will assist participants in gaining meaningful insight about the local environment, culture, and natural history of the Chicagoland area. Starved Rock State Park has been home to humans since 8,000 B.C. when many native cultures thrived in the area. With over 13 miles of trails and 18 canyons along the Illinois River, this trip will offer many opportunities to study the plant and wildlife of the region along with the stunning rock formations. Enjoy cool canyons in the heat of the summer and breathtaking views as we hike along the Illinois River and observe the abundance of nature that the park has to offer. Lunch, transportation, entrance fees, workshop, and guided tours are included with the cost of the program. Cost: $50/participant. Register on line or find more information about Chicago Eco Edventures at www.naturemuseum.org.
