Chicago Blackhawks "Real Fan Days" at Brookfield Zoo August 27, 2011

Celebrate the Chicago Blackhawks during their “REAL FAN DAYS” weekend August 27 and 28. Festivities include appearances by legendary and current Blackhawks players and Tommy Hawk the team’s mascot, hawk Zoo Chats, a scavenger hunt, hockey skill games and more.
Visitors who wear Chicago Blackhawks apparel will receive a 20 percent discount off zoo admission. All activities are free with regular admission of $13.50 for adults and $9.50 for children 3 to 11 and seniors 65 and over. Children 2 and under free. Parking is $9.

Free Activities
-Meet and get autographs from current and legendary Chicago Blackhawks players:
Player for August 27 TBA.
Legendary Blackhawks player Denis Savard on August 28 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
-Meet Tommy Hawk, the Chicago Blackhawks mascot, from noon to 2:00 p.m. on August 27 and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on August 28.
-Members of the Blackhawks Ice Crew will also make appearances both days from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
-Guests will have a chance to win official Blackhawks posters, towels, and key chains at the Blackhawks Canopy & Prize Wheel on the West Mall.
-A special red-tailed hawk Zoo Chat at 1:00 p.m. on the West Mall will tie-in fun facts about the Chicago Blackhawks.
-Partake in a scavenger hunt that will take place around the zoo connecting sports teams, skills used in playing hockey, and fun facts about animals at the zoo. Complete the quiz correctly and you will be entered in a drawing for Chicago Blackhawks prizes.
-Be a sports broadcaster and announce iconic sports plays at the broadcast “karaoke” booth.
-View and purchase sports memorabilia courtesy of AU Sports Memorabilia on the West Mall. A portion of all sales goes toward the Chicago Zoological Society’s Conservation Fund.
-Participate in Kinectimals Xbox activities presented by the Microsoft Store.

Free Hockey Skill Drills on Brookfield Zoo’s West Mall
-Hockey Shoot Out: participants can show their sport skills in this inflated sport cage
-Hockey Clinic: participants can play on a 20 x 30 space featuring nets and cones
-Shoot-A-Puck inflatable game
-Giant Bags Set: sports fans of all ages can play a supersized version of the classic tailgating game

“REAL FAN DAYS” is a seven-weekend series that runs through September 4 on select weekends and allows fans of Chicago professional sports teams to meet players and mascots, test their skill at sports games, and enjoy themed entertainment. Plus, guests can discover the REAL connection their favorite teams share with iconic animals at Brookfield Zoo and within the Great Bear Wilderness exhibit, presented by Dominick’s, through programming and activities.
