chiarOscuro is a unique nightclub experience featuring alternative dance
music spun on two dancefloors by a rotating lineup of 12 diverse local and
national deejays every Saturday night at the Edge Nightclub in Washington DC.

The patio is now open for the summer, where we'll be spinning new wave, britpop, post punk, alternative pop, and all kinds of other great music. Hear exceptional new bands like Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, Radio 4, Kasabian, The Bravery, Snow Patrol, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand and others. This is some of the best new music to come out in ages. It's catchy, it's fun, and it's very danceable! We'll be mixing it in with your favorite classics from Duran Duran, The Cure, Gang of Four, The Clash, REM, Blur, Pet Shop Boys, and New Order, to name only a few.

If it rains, we'll be in the lounge instead. Expect something similar, but more . . . loungy (lounge-esque?).

chiarOscuro welcomes artist Kirstin Nickerson to the Symposium this
week. Kirstin has been painting for over 10 years and studied at
William and Mary as well as Smith College. Most of her work is
created with oil paints, but expect experiments with dry pastels
and photography.

Check out The Symposium and Eclectic Lounge at chiarOscuro
(hours: 11pm-2:30am) where you can relax in our comfortable couches and
play cards or take in a game of chess to a more diverse musical selection
at conversational volumes, home to special showcase events check the
chiarOscuro calendar. Our patio opens at 11pm so that you may enjoy
the fresh air and during the warmer months, a bar and manned DJ booth!

chiarOscuro is currently seeking artists interested in hosting a display
