The GLBT Arts Consortium and the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) present Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pinafore for eight performances over two weekends in August 2011. The performances are: August 4-6 and 11-13, 2011. Evening performances begin at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday matinees at 3:00 p.m. All performances are at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, 545 7th Street SE, corner of G and 7th St. SE. Tickets are $20 and are available by calling (202) 547-6839, or at [email protected]. Tickets for the matinee on Saturday, August 6, 2011 are $10. The production is funded in part by the Capitol Hill Community Foundation and Bernard Myers Fund for the Performing Arts of The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region.

This loving production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pinafore is under the direction of Peter DiMuro (Stage) and Barbara Schelstrate (Music). Jill Strachan is the producer. Cast members hail from the CHAW community, glbt arts community, and the community-at-large. This rendition of Pinafore has several unique updates, but Savoyards can still expect to enjoy “When I was a Lad” and “I’m Called Little Buttercup.”
