Charles Dickens wrote 'A Christmas Carol' in a six-week flurry of activity, just making it in time for it's publication for Christmas in 1843. The original manuscript bound in red morocco as a gift for his solicitor, was eventually acquired by Pierpont Morgan in the 1890s. This original manuscript serves as a centerpiece for the Morgan's holiday programs.
