Charity revolution: to benefit Peacelove Studios March 24, 2011

The March installment of our Charity Series; CHARITY REVOLUTION will be on March 24, 2011 6-9 PM at the Cuban Revolution Restaurant & Bar on 60 Valley Street Providence, RI. The Charity we are highlighting will be: PeaceLove Studios

PeaceLove (http://www.peacelovestudios.com/ ) is a growing community of mental health advocates and artists creating conversations of acceptance, understanding, and hope.

The PeaceLove Foundation pr...ovides free expressive arts programs to communities affected by mental health disorders. Our original program, Paint4Peace™, teaches painting as a way to inspire, motivate, build self-confidence and deliver a message of hope through creativity and artistic expression. With paint, foam brushes and canvas, all participants become artists as they find their voice in a new means of self-expression.

We will be doing our event a little different this month. There will be a Silent Auction that is worth $2,000.00 and a regular raffle worth $500.00. We will be asking for a $5 Donation from all participants when they enter and raffle tickets will be $5 a piece with all money collected going directly to the charity (Our last raffle had a total of $1,340.00 worth of donated items in it from local businesses and media outlets and raised $675.00 for Children’s Wishes of Rhode Island.)

For March we are asking participants to bring their laptops in order to make this a truly social media experience. You will be able to mingle with local business owners on Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and other applications and see how their businesses are using these services to bring in more customers. There is free parking and free Wi-Fi, in addition to light refreshments.
